Tata Motors wins the first CSIR Diamond Jubilee Technology Award

Tata Motors, India's leading automotive manufacturer, has won the first CSIR Diamond Jubilee Technology Award for the year 2003-2004. The Award was received by Mr Ratan Tata, Chairman – Tata Motors from the Prime Minister of India, Dr Manmohan Singh, at a function organized in New Delhi today. Tata Motors won the Award for the design, development, manufacturing and successful marketing of Indica and Indigo cars.

The CSIR Diamond Jubilee Technology Award has been instituted to encourage scientists, engineers and technologists to develop innovative technologies and products that are amongst the best in the world and enhance India's image.

Technologies leading to commercially successful products, processes and services, which give India a sustainable competitive advantage, are considered for the award.

Tata Motors acknowledges this Award as a recognition of Indian engineering and design capabilities as well as the trust and confidence of its customers.
