Tata Motors-Car plant gets two ISO certifications

Tata Motors-Passenger Car Unit, Pune was recently certified by Bureau Veritas Quality International-BVQI for ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System-QMS as well as ISO 14001:1996 Environmental Management System-EMS.

This is a remarkable team achievement that follows in the wake of the successful launch of Indigo & Indica-City Rover and a substantial ramp-up in production volumes to meet ever increasing customer demands.

The installation of ISO systems clearly emphasises the commitment of the Tata Motors' team to quality and the environment. This certification was achieved within less than 18 months of the commencement of the project.

QMS and EMS initiatives were led by J M Thatte, Vice President (Car Plant) and R K Pable, AGM (Quality Systems), as management representative.

ISO-QMS has influenced all aspects of the Quality Value Stream in line with achievement of the company's central objectives, namely, customer satisfaction and continual improvement.
