Tata Motors among India's most Trusted Brand in cars

Wins the Gold Award in the Reader's Digest Asia Trusted Brand Awards 2009

Tata Motors won the Gold Award at the Reader's Digest Asia Trusted Brand Awards for the 4th consecutive year. The Reader's Digest Asia Trusted Brands Survey identifies the brands which appeal the most to Asian consumers. The other company to win the Gold Award was Hyundai. Maruti was the Platinum winner.

The survey, carried out by The Nielsen, is conducted through questionnaires distributed in Reader's Digest, as well as through telephone interviews of randomly selected consumers in India, Hong Kong, Mainland China, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. The respondents are asked to name their most trusted brand in each of the product categories, and then to give each brand they name a rating, from 1 (low) to 5 (high), on six qualitative criteria: Trustworthiness & Credibility, Quality, Value, Understanding of Customer Needs, Innovative and Social Responsibility. Each brand then receives a mathematical score based on the number of respondents who named it, multiplied by the average rating on the six qualitative criteria. Reader's Digest has been conducting this survey annually since 1999.
