Tata Marcopolo Motors Ltd. (TMML) is engaged in the business of manufacture and sale of fully built buses and coaches in which the Company has a 51% holding with the balance 49% being held by Marcopolo S. A., Brazil. During the year under review, the Company produced 483 buses from its Lucknow factory for supply through Tata Motors Ltd to Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). Tata Motors Ltd has received further an order of 1625 MCV buses from DTC to be supplied by March 2010.The Company is fully geared up to work with Tata Motors Ltd on this project. The Company is also working very closely with Tata Motors Ltd for huge requirements of buses in the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) scheme. Commercial production of the LCV Buses started at the Dharwad facility in November 2008. The Company produced 867 LCV buses from Dharwad for domestic and international markets.
TMML recorded a net turnover of Rs. 44.93 crores and loss after tax is Rs. 36.83 crores. |
