Tata Engineering was awarded the second place at the TERI CoRE-BCSD Corporate Social Responsibility awards for 2001-02, in recognition of its leadership efforts towards social responsibility. The objective of the award is to recognise the proactive efforts in fulfilling social responsibilities, bringing about perceptible improvements in the lives of the community and developing innovative systems and mechanisms to ensure the continuance of these initiatives.

The mission of CoRE -BCSD, India, is to provide an independent and credible platform for corporate leaders to address issues related to sustainable development and to promote leadership in environmental management, social responsibility and performance.
