The panel of judges of the Indian Merchants’ Chamber Diamond Jubilee Endowment Trust Award, 2002 has unanimously selected Tata Engineering for the "Industry and Technology Award".

This award has been conferred to Tata Engineering and Locomotive Company Limited in recognition of developing and manufacturing Tata Indica, India's first and only completely indigenously designed and manufactured passenger car.
