The 12th National Workskills Competition was held from 27 to 29 December, 1999 at Advance Training Institute Mumbai followed by Prize distribution ceremony at Y B Chavan Centre, Mumbai on December 30, 1999. One hundred six industrial workers from 36 companies participated and Tata Engineering was awarded the Best Company Award with trophy and certificate.

Mr. S. Krishnan, Director General, Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET), Ministry of Labour, Govt. of India along with Mr. Pradeep Mallick, Vice Chairman, CII-WR gave away the prizes and certificates to the winners.
