The Indian Value Engineering Society, INVEST has awarded Tata Motors with the prestigious Handa Golden Key award at the INVEST National Conference 2003. Mr D S Gowaikar DM (VE) accepted the award on behalf of Tata Motors at a function held at Bangalore on 28th November 2003 at the hands of the chief guest Mr. K Jaiaraj, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Govt of Karnataka.

Tata Motors was awarded this laurel for realising the importance of Value Engineering, Value Management (VE/VM) as an organized corporate activity and for excelling in fruitfully deploying this technique to improve the total value of its operations and for having encouraged the dissemination of VE/VM methodology at all levels within the organization. This award was won earlier by our company in 1996.

During the conference an award is given for the best paper presented. Tata Motors won both the first and second prize in this category. Mr R D Purohit of Safari LOB team won the first award for VE on Safari Air Conditioning and Mr J J Sathe of Electronics Division won the second award for VE on Magnetic Pick up for Engine management System.
