Ghana, a major producer of cocoa and gold, is fast emerging as one of the important regional powers in northwest Africa. Ghana has been a key market for Tata Motors. We began exporting commercial vehicles into the country in 1974, specifically buses for mass transit. In the past decade, Tata Motors has taken giant strides in the country through the supplies of various models of buses, trucks and cars that meet local requirements. Also popular are our application vehicles such as water tankers and container trucks that are a part of local industry.
We have also been a part of various major government projects like buses for MMT – in 2012, our fleet of buses helped revamp Ghana’s public transport system – cars for taxi fleets, and pick-ups for election duties.
