The rising air pollution in Mumbai is taking a toll on its citizens. To tackle it, Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, Maharashtra Chief Minister, inaugurated the 25 new Tata Starbus Hybrid Electric Buses, delivered to MMRDA (Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority) in the presence of Mr. Anant Geete, Union Minister of Heavy Industry and Public Sector Enterprises.

A 'Make in India' initiative by Tata Motors
It has become imperative to develop sustainable and green solutions to be used for mass transportation. Attempting to satiate this need, Tata Motors has leapfrogged the competition by unveiling its newly developed hybrid-electric transport vehicle - the Tata Starbus Hybrid Electric Bus. This 12m long bus incorporates a diesel series hybrid configuration that will significantly help reduce carbon dioxide emissions. Being the first locally-made hybrid bus in India, Tata Starbus strengthens the government's 'Make in India' initiative.
