“Sports teaches you character, it teaches you to play by the rules, it teaches you to know what it feels like to win and lose-it teaches you about life.” – Billie Jean King, Tennis Legend
Playing a sport certainly helps build character and teaches you a lot of life skills. It inculcates the habit of abiding by the rules, prepares you to accept loss, and makes you realize the joys of victory, and thus strive harder for it. Not only does sports stimulate healthy development of the younger generation, but also encourages socio-economic development of a country. Hence, Tata Motors, along with the government, has been at the forefront of promotion of all types of sports in our nation.
Associating with Maharashtra Open
In spite of the cricket craze in India, tennis enjoys a considerable following too, with the sport witnessing a golden era in the 60’s. To promote the game further amongst our country’s youth, we associate with The Maharashtra Open - India’s sole Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) event for five years. The event (hosted in Maharashtra for the first time since it moved from Chennai) featured crowd-pullers like Marin Čilić, Kevin Anderson, Roberto Bautista Agut, Sumit Nagal, and many others who wowed tennis lovers in India with their energetic game.
