T-Talk - a series of guest lectures by Tata Motors are held at some of the best engineering and management colleges across India. Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) from the company, as well as high-achieving campus alumni's headline these lectures, where industry-oriented topics help prepare students to gear–up for their careers. The objectives of T-Talk are to give students the industry perspective, contribute to their learning graph and impart insights about Tata Motors.
Insights from some of the T-Talk sessions of 2017, amongst the several conducted across numerous institutes
Tata Motors held a round of T-Talk at BIT, Mesra on 3rd November 2017, company expert Mr. Amitav Sahay, General Manager, Paint Factory spoke on “Future of Engineers and Smart Manufacturing”. The students got to learn about how to leverage new technologies like IoT and Big Data to create innovative solutions and how our vehicles are getting smarter with the use of Sensors and Artificial Intelligence, thereby helping to increase safety, efficiency and comfort. Mr. Mahesh Suguru, General Manager Production, Mr. Nitin Kanwade, Deputy General Manager Project Execution and Mr. Shubhesh Gaurav, Deputy General Manager Scheduling and Procurement were the expert lecturers at T-Talk held at NIT, Trichy on 4th November 2017. They spoke in detail about Process Planning, ‘Make vs. Buy’ decision, automation, new technology for Electric & Hybrid vehicle and Artificial Intelligence (AI).
IIT-BHU, was the venue for T-Talk on 6th December 2017. The session was delivered by Mr. S. B. Pathak, General Manager - ERC who is also an alumnus of IIT-BHU. Electric and Hybrid Vehicles were the topic of discussion. The students had a technical dive into the Series and Parallel hybrid vehicles along with a good insight about the intricacies of building world renowned electric buses.
At IIM, Shillong on 17th November 2017, Mr. Rajesh Nair, General Manager Corporate HR & Administration, spoke in detail about ‘Career in the Automobile Industry.’ Students were told of the various aspects of the automobile industry and the possible career paths that they can take. The lecture also focused on pursuing the right passion and experimenting till the time students find their career paths. IMI, Delhi was honoured to have Mr. Rajesh Lele, General Manager e-HR Projects. He delivered an intriguing session on HR Analytics. The discussion touched upon various aspects like Learning Measurement, Knowledge Management, HR Analytics and People Analytics. Students got an insight on how technological advancements are utilised by the organisation to improve the efficiency of its employees.
