On December 7th, 2018, Nexon became the first car in India to secure the highest rating of 5 stars for occupant protection in the crash tests conducted by Global NCAP (Global New Car Assessment Programme). After receiving a rating of 4 stars for occupant protection this past August, we have now created a new landmark for car safety in the Indian automobile industry by achieving this commendable feat.
Reflecting on our commitment towards keeping safety as our priority, we designed the Nexon with an energy-absorbing body structure accompanied by high strength steel construction and critical reinforcements. We made the seat-belt reminder feature for both driver and front passenger standard across all variants. This, along with meeting the UN95 side-impact protection requirements, Nexon became the first homegrown model to register this high score across the country.
Nexon's promise to offer good protection for adults' and the stable structure was applauded extensively. This demonstrated to the world that the domestic industry is vastly capable of achieving excellence through innovative designs and technology.
With these test results, Nexon emerged as India's safest sub compact SUV on the parameters of passenger safety. Needless to say, our efforts combined with the recently applied crash standards by the Indian Government, we are definitely going to see a steady improvement in this aspect in new cars across the country. This achievement will be a stepping stone towards making our roads safer to drive on.
With an increasing awareness towards safety, among the manufactures and customers, vehicles like Nexon diligently commit towards keeping passenger protection as its prime concern. And we plan to meet the highest of standards by continuously applying this agenda of passenger safety to all our future vehicles.
