Adapting to the new normal took a while, but once I noticed the little birds chirping outside my window, I realised that being home has its benefits! I had a little more time to spend with my plants and after observing that even in this concrete jungle, there is a whole wide world biodiversity in my backyard. Sunbirds are now a regular feature at our balcony and bulbuls, mynas, parakeets and of course the little sparrows are welcome guests along with the not so welcome pigeons. To build on this new hobby I registered for a course with BNHS to learn more about birds. The new normal has allowed me to spend more time with my camera and sharpen my photography skills. Sharing here two pictures clicked by me at home - (i) a Purple Rumped Sunbird which visits our little window garden many times for flowers and nectar and (ii) the beauty of a flower just after rains (Crown-of-Thorns or Euphorbia milii flowers).
