Commercial vehicles reported its highest ever-monthly sales of 22,885 nos. for the domestic market in February ’06. This represents an increase of 30% over 17,656 vehicles sold in February last year. M&HCV sales stood at 13662 nos, while LCV sales were 9,223 nos.
Cumulative sales of commercial vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal were 187,655 nos.
The passenger vehicle business reported a total sale of 17,972 vehicles in the domestic market in February ’06, an increase of 12.1% over February ’05. This is the highest ever sale reported by the company for the month of February. Indica registered a sale of 10, 548 nos. a growth of 15.3% over Feb’05. The Indigo family registered sales of 3,653 nos., a growth of 3.8% over Feb’05. The Sumo and Safari accounted for sales of 3, 771 nos. registering a growth of 12.2% over Feb ’05.
Cumulative sales of passenger vehicles in the domestic market for the fiscal at 166,247 nos grew by 4.5% over the same period last year. Cumulative sales of Indica at 98,586 nos. recorded an increase of 4.4%, while cumulative sales of the Indigo family stood at 34,712 nos. Cumulative sales of Utility Vehicles at 32,949 nos. were 10.2% higher than Apr-Feb ’05.
The Company’s sales from exports were 4257 vehicles in February ’06 as compared to 3290 vehicles in February ’05, an increase of 29.4%. The cumulative sales from exports in the current period at 44031 nos. have recorded a 66% growth over the corresponding figures for the previous period.
