About Tata Prima
In an effort to bring ‘The way the world trucks’ to India, Tata Motors introduced the Tata Prima in 2009, with technical inputs from across the world – an Italian cab design, engine technology from the USA and Europe, gearbox expertise from Germany, chassis frame know-how from Mexico, sheet metal dies from Japan and Korea, combined with Swedish precision on a robotic weld line, hence also referred to as the ‘World’ truck.
A multiple award-winning range of trucks from Tata Motors, the Tata Prima range includes multi-axle trucks, tractor-trailers and tippers, apt for several applications, meeting varied end-user requirements, in terms of comfort, driving dynamics and economy, boasting outstanding material and build quality as well as the lowest overall costs and has raised the bar in the Indian trucking scene, right from its cabin features, power-to-weight ratio, safety aspects, advanced technologies, quality and reliability, return on investments, driver comfort and hence is still the best truck range available in India.
Tata Motors recently organised India’s first truck racing championship – The T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship at the Buddh International Circuit, in March 2014, featuring 12 Tata Prima race trucks. With an audience of over 20000 screaming enthusiasts who cheered on the speeding Prima trucks, the debut season of India’s truck racing Championship, proved to be a treat for motorsports fanatics in an intense race that witnessed a lot of edge-of-the-seats overtaking and high speed corner action.
