Kings XI Punjab is part of the eight competing teams of the IPL.

Mr. Ravi Pisharody, Executive Director, Commercial Vehicles, Tata Motors said, "Cricket is as pervasive and inherently connected to Indian psyche as our trucks are a part of the country’s DNA. We, at Tata Motors, are delighted to be a part of the Indian Premier League – that continues to remain one of the most exhilarating cricket tournaments – through the partnership with Kings XI Punjab team, one of the most exciting franchises in the IPL for this upcoming season, with players such as Virendra Sehwag, C Pujara, S Marsh and many others. We bring the same passionate commitment to our customers as this star line-up brings to their cricket. We wish ‘The Lions’ the very best for this season of IPL."

This marks a continued association of the Tata Prima with sports, and will offer the brand a tremendous opportunity for in-stadium branding as well as logo and kit branding with the high calibre players of Kings XI Punjab.

About Tata Prima

In an effort to bring ‘The way the world trucks’ to India, Tata Motors introduced the Tata Prima in 2009, with technical inputs from across the world – an Italian cab design, engine technology from the USA and Europe, gearbox expertise from Germany, chassis frame know-how from Mexico, sheet metal dies from Japan and Korea, combined with Swedish precision on a robotic weld line, hence also referred to as the ‘World’ truck.

A multiple award-winning range of trucks from Tata Motors, the Tata Prima range includes multi-axle trucks, tractor-trailers and tippers, apt for several applications, meeting varied end-user requirements, in terms of comfort, driving dynamics and economy, boasting outstanding material and build quality as well as the lowest overall costs and has raised the bar in the Indian trucking scene, right from its cabin features, power-to-weight ratio, safety aspects, advanced technologies, quality and reliability, return on investments, driver comfort and hence is still the best truck range available in India.

Tata Motors recently organised India’s first truck racing championship – The T1 Prima Truck Racing Championship at the Buddh International Circuit, in March 2014, featuring 12 Tata Prima race trucks. With an audience of over 20000 screaming enthusiasts who cheered on the speeding Prima trucks, the debut season of India’s truck racing Championship, proved to be a treat for motorsports fanatics in an intense race that witnessed a lot of edge-of-the-seats overtaking and high speed corner action.
