Tata Motors remains committed to supporting local communities fight COVID-19

~ Strengthens its COVID-19 preparedness in Jamshedpur. ~

 

  • Over 2.40 lakh of vaccine doses given so far
  • 200 beds set-up in the COVID-19 care room at  Tata Motors hospital in Jamshedpur
  • Increased capacity to perform 100+ tests a day, results available within 8 hours
  • Isolation and quarantine facilities established for 100 people

Tata Motors has strengthened its commitment to local communities in and around its operations areas to fight Covid-19.  Continuing to be at the forefront, since the onset of the pandemic, Tata Motors Hospital in Jamshedpur has taken several steps to enhance its readiness to address any requirements arising from the Omicron variant of COVID-19. In collaboration with its hospital team, administration, and OHC (Occupational Health Centre) of its Jamshedpur Plant, and the residents of Jamshedpur, the company is prepared to respond to the pandemic as well as take preventative action. The company has created dedicated COVID-19 treatment rooms, isolation facilities, city-wide vaccination drives and are organising awareness programmes at its hospital, among other things.

Appended below are the some of the key highlights of the initiatives undertaken by the company Jamshedpur hospital –

  • More than 2.41 lakh of vaccine doses have been administered as part of their vaccination drives conducted in the city drive
  • Over 200 patients can access treatment at its Jamshedpur Hospital that is equipped with a special COVID-19 ward that includes special ward for pediatric and a separate section for ICU, available for both adults and children.
  • In addition, special isolation facilities have been created outside the hospital that can accommodate another 100 people.
  • Special arrangements have been made at the hospital for mothers with COVID +ve due to childbirth. On average, there have been three COVID +ve deliveries carried out each day, since the start of the third wave. All of these mothers have successfully recovered and no major issues have been reported concerning the health of the mother or child.
  • Medical practitioners in the hospital are regularly educating people on COVID-19 protocols such as wearing proper masks, maintaining social distancing, frequent washing of hands, avoiding crowded places, unnecessary travel etc. and also on the vulnerability of elderly and those with comorbidities to the disease.
  • Surveillance testing has been activated for all frontline workers and employees.
  • An online and tele-consultation facility is being provided to all patients to help mitigate risks of COVID-19 infection due to increased footfalls in the hospital. Doctors are available for consultation on the allotted numbers for different ailments as well as COVID-specific treatment and advice for adults and children
  • A special OPD at the hospital helps take care of post-COVID issues and more than 560 COVID +ve employees have been screened so far to rule out any post-COVID complications.
  • Counselling sessions offering guidance on mental well-being has been organized in partnership with 1to1help health organization for COVID-19 patients and their families.

Dr Sanjay Kumar, Head – Medical Services, Tata Motors Jamshedpur, said, “The key to success with respect to COVID-10 lies in preparation. The current variant of COVID-19 is much more contagious and can infect many more contacts as compared to the earlier variant. We have tried to cover all aspects with regards to COVID-19, preventive vaccination drive, preparing hospitals for surge in admission, screening of suspected cases as well as mental wellbeing of the people impacted by COVID-19.”
