Tata Motors, along with its distributor, Tata Africa Holdings (Tanzania) Limited (TAHTL) announced the commercial launch of their iconic vehicle duo, the stylish compact SUV – Tata NEXON and the lifestyle vehicle – Tata HEXA.

While the Nexon is a revolutionary design of “breaking the box” with an aerodynamic silhouette, the Hexa boasts of a bold and impactful design. Launched at an introductory price of TZS 45 Million (XMA variant) for the Nexon and TZS 81 Million and TZS 89 Million for the Hexa XT 4×4 and XTA Automatic version respectively, these vehicles will be available across the company’s authorized dealerships, starting today. Both HEXA and NEXON will also be available under attractive finance options.

According to Mr. Sujan Roy, Head – International Business, Passenger Vehicle Business Unit, Tata Motors, “We are excited to announce the launch of our much appreciated UVs in Tanzania. Unveiling the two SUVs, Mr. Naresh Leekha, Regional Head – East Africa, Tata Africa Holdings (Tanzania) Limited (TAHTL) said, “This is our first big step into the UV segment with Tata Motors. Continuing our long standing relationship with the Company, we are proud and confident to launch these products in our country and look forward to introduce many more such fantastic products in the times ahead.”

About the Nexon:

Bringing together global and contemporary design with best-in-class technology and features, the Tata NEXON flaunts two new engines, the 1.2L Turbocharged Petrol from the Revotron series and the 1.5L Diesel engine from the Revotorq series which is mated to a 6-speed transmission for class leading fuel efficiency.  With a first-in-segment feature, NEXON’s best in class AMT with Multi-Drive modes (Eco, City and Sport) ensures that the vehicle delivers performance as per the driver’s requirement – Sport mode is for more spirited driving delivering 260 Nm torque (Diesel), City mode is for cruising swiftly in an urban environment.

The NEXON in Tanzania will be available in six variants (XE, XM, XMA, XT, XZ, XZ+, XZA+) and six colours (Etna Orange, Vermont Red, Moroccan Blue, Seattle Silver, Glasgow Grey, and Calgary White).  Setting a new benchmark in safety, the NEXON recently bagged a 4-star adult safety rating by the Global New Car Assessment Programme (Global NCAP), the highest adult safety score (13.56/17.00)  amongst all the models tested by Global NCAP in India.

With an exceptional combination of design, comfort and off-road and on-road capabilities, the Tata HEXA maneuvers through the toughest terrains and uninhabited zones, delivering a new level of driving experience. Powered by the advanced next-gen 2.2L VARICOR 400 diesel engine, the Tata HEXA delivers a class leading 400 Nm torque and 156 PS power. With a 6 Speed Automatic and 6 Speed Manual transmission, the HEXA’s ‘SUPER DRIVE MODES’ will provide for an enhanced ride comfort and stability over different terrains. The All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system is electronically controlled via an adaptive system by Borg Warner™, with the torque on demand feature.

Equipped with Tata Motors ‘CONNECTNEXT Infotainment system by HARMAN TM, both vehicles come with an ergonomically placed touch screen and provide their inmates with unmatched entertainment. They will also come with a Warranty Policy of 3 years or 60,000 kms, whichever is earlier.
